Raleigh’s Ray Price Harley-Davidson sold
Arizona businessman John Morotti has purchased Ray Price Harley-Davidson/Triumph from the namesake’s family.
Ray Price passed away in 2015 at the age of 78. He opened the store 35 years ago, and his company is known for organizing Capital City Bikefest and supporting several charitable causes, including Toys for Tots.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The store is located at 1126 South Saunders St. and will keep its name under the new ownership, which takes over in January.
“Ray Price built an amazing dealership and family of riders here in Raleigh and across North Carolina. We’re thrilled to continue that heritage,” stated Morotti, who owns three motorcycle shops in Arizona. “We see the growth of Raleigh as a tremendous opportunity, and we will continue the family’s legacy of education and community service that’s been part of the fabric of the Triangle for 35 years."
Price was a hall-of-fame motorcycle racer. His company has won several top industry awards and the N.C. Retail Merchants Association named Ray Price Harley-Davidson its 2015 Retailer of the Year.
