Ray Price Harley-Davidson is shaking things up with a new twist on its cook-off fundraisers with its Butt Pickin’ Boston Butt Cook-off contest on March 12 at noon. The public is also invited to the Ladies of Harley Pancake Breakfast that morning beginning at 8:00 a.m. Both events support local charities, where $8 gets attendees all-you-can eat breakfast from 8-to-10 a.m. That same day, a $5 donation means all-you-can-eat in the Boston Butt Cook-off, with proceeds benefiting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation again this year.
Interested cooks can register for the Boston Butt Cook-off online at https://www.rayprice.com/event-forms/butt-kicken-contest-registration. The $100 registration fee must be received no later than March 5 and includes a case of Boston Butts of about 75lbs.
“We’re launching something new this year. With North Carolina having such a rich barbecue history, we thought a pig picking would be a great way to go,” said Kris Weiss, director of marketing and promotions, Ray Price Harley-Davidson. “We’re excited to invite the community out to support the children and families helped by the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation as well as the various Ladies of Harley charities.”
The nonprofit Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is dedicated to finding the cause and a cure for childhood brain tumors by supporting medical research and helping children and families affected by this disease.
Ladies of Harley are Raleigh H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) members who meet regularly for rides and philanthropy. The Pancake Breakfast will benefit Open Door Clinic and Food Bank of Eastern North Carolina. Raleigh HOG recently donated 50 bicycles to the Marines Toys For Tots, and their annual Easter Basket Ride will take place March 19 to benefit Oxford Orphanage at the Masonic Home for Children.
