"Street Wise" Program

"Street Wise" is a new program offered by Tobacco Road Harley-Davidson. We want to help every new rider build the experience and gain the confidence it takes to make riding so enjoyable. "Street Wise" allows our Riding Academy® graduates to be paired with an experienced riding mentor, free of charge. Your mentor will take you on a route that has been mapped out specifically for new riders. The ride will start off slow and easy, and will build so that you become comfortable in those real-life riding situations that cannot be practiced out on the range. Riding is all about seat-time; the more you ride the more confidence you will have! "Street Wise" is a great way to get more familiar with your new bike as you ride!

FAQs

The "Street Wise" Program is absolutely free.

  • A street ready motorcycle (your own or we can provide you with a Harley-Davidson Street 500)
  • Motorcycle endorsement, permit or license (check with the H-D® dealer for details)

You'll need to bring the following:
  • A heavy, long-sleeve shirt or jacket
  • Jeans, chaps, or leather pants
  • Over-the-ankle, sturdy footwear
  • Full-fingered gloves
  • A government approved motorcycle helmet (in the U.S., a motorcycle helmet that meets D.O.T. standards) 
  • Eyewear

Shop for Riding Gear

For the riding portion, you will provide a street-ready motorcycle. If you don't yet have your own bike, we can provide you with a Harley-Davidson Street 500.
